Importantly, High Speed Rail will have its own specific Act of Parliament which will allow HS2 to compulsorily acquire land and direct which compensation measures HS2 will use. The partners and staff and Hinson Parry & Company have over one hundred years combined experience in dealing with compulsory purchase and compensation claims. We are proud to be working closely with the NFU, the CLA and the CAAV in making representations to HS2 to help to make the compulsory purchase process better for our clients.
Our focus is fairly and squarely about compensating land owners and property owners affected by HS2 and getting the right HS2 compensation settlements for them. Phase 1 from London to Lichfield has been safeguarded, which means that blight notices can be served to HS2 which can compel HS2 to acquire properties within the safeguarded zone. We have submitted blight notices on behalf of many clients and have a near 100% success rate.
