About the Business

In 1955, John Wilkinson joined Larry Connell at the Leighton Buzzard office of Connells where he did his 'articles' and learnt to become a professional estate agent and surveyor. John was instrumental in the expansion of Connells and was the Senior Partner and major shareholder in Connells until 1978. John Wilkinson resigned his senior partnership, and set out to present his own brand of professional estate agency.

He built, with his business partner, Christopher Coles, a network of twelve offices and departments across five counties and the practice was highly respected as an effective, professional organisation specialising in Country Homes. Consequently, as a result of the major changes in the mid 1980's, the practice was approached by major banks, building societies and insurance companies to sell into their own chains of estate agents and, in late 1987, the partnership was sold.
